About Angelus School of Sacred Music
The Angelus School of Sacred Music was founded in April of 2026.
Our mission is to support the Sacred Music of the Church by the formation and training of singers, organists, directors, and clergy.
The Angelus School is an initiative of Edify Missions, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization with the mission of edifying the works of the Catholic Church for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.

DEACON CHANT WORKSHOP - AUGUST 29
Learn the foundations of chanting as a deacon in the Holy Mass and Divine Office (Liturgy of the Hours).
8:00am - 12:00pm
Join fellow deacons and men in formation for a practical and enriching morning workshop focused on the sacred art of chanting within the Church’s liturgy.
This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the foundations of liturgical chant and help build confidence in singing the Church’s prayer with reverence, clarity, and beauty. Whether completely new to chant or looking to strengthen existing skills, participants will receive practical instruction that can be immediately applied in parish ministry.
Topics will include:
- Basics of chanting at Mass
- Chanting in the Divine Office
- Introduction to reading chant notation
- Singing and vocal techniques for clergy
- Chanting the Gospel
- Chanting the Exsultet
The workshop will be recorded and made available afterward for those unable to attend in person.
CHANTING THE DIVINE OFFICE - TUESDAYS OF AUGUST
Learn everything you need to chant the Divine Office well.
6:00pm - 7:30pm
This course is designed to introduce adults to the beauty and practice of chanting the Divine Office in the tradition of the Catholic Church. Students will be able to cantor for this liturgy in their own parish.
This hands-on workshop will introduce participants to the foundations of liturgical chant and help build confidence in singing the Church’s prayer with reverence, clarity, and beauty. Whether completely new to chant or looking to strengthen existing skills, participants will receive practical instruction that can be immediately applied in parish ministry.
No prior musical training is required.
Classes will take place at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church in St. Martinville, in Bienvenu Hall.
Throughout this course, students will learn:
- The structure of the Divine Office
- Basic chant notation
- Psalm tones
- Antiphons and responses
- How to confidently chant the Traditional Office and the Liturgy of the Hours
- Chanting in Latin and English
CHILDREN'S CHOIR - 6 WEDNESDAYS SEPT 30 - NOV 4
6 Week Training Ending with Performance on Nov. 11.
4:00pm - 5:00pm
This course is designed to introduce children to the foundations of singing in a choir.
Children will learn the basics of chant including Solfege and cite reading. They will be able to chant basic Mass propers in Latin and French. They will learn one beautiful peace of French polyphony to be performed on Nov. 11th at the Mass of St. Martin de Tours.
No prior musical training is required.
TEEN CHOIR - 6 WEDNESDAYS SEPT 30 - NOV 4
6 Week Training Ending with Performance on Nov. 11.
4:00pm - 5:00pm
This course is designed to introduce teens to the foundations of singing in a choir.
Students will learn the basics of chant including Solfege and cite reading. They will be able to chant basic Mass propers in Latin and French. They will learn one beautiful peace of French polyphony to be performed on Nov. 11th at the Mass of St. Martin de Tours.
